My 71 SB is completely gutted inside.
I am thinking doing the interior with one of the kits from J.C. Whitney. Does anyone have any experience with those? |

JC Whitney may be cheap, but that's because their stuff is cheap.
Stay away from the big corporations and keep the Mom and Pop restoration businesses in business. With JC Whitney you'll be dealing with a minimum wage parts puller and phone assistance in India. Try JBugs for your interior. Top of the line stuff from TMI. If you get the whole interior kit, they'll throw in the Bug-Me video for installation tips and assistance. And if you need help and call them, you'll be talking to a VW owner, driver and restorer. Not some nameless faceless perrson who doesn't know a VW Beetle from a dung beetle. Alan

Don't go with JCWhitney for interior stuff. I've done a TMI interior and was very happy with it, get all kinds of compliments. Price was good, quality is there and was pretty easy to put together. Sewfine has some really cool stuff but I found them to be a little pricy. Guess it depends on how much you want to put into your ride.

I have restored several interiors using stuff ordered from J C Whitney and have been very satisfied. Funny thing, materials ordered from them is shipped directly from the TMI factory as stated in their catalog.

A good source for interior or other parts is www.Blimpit.com. They also use TMI products, and they have good prices.

Funny thing. I have used interior parts from JCW many times and they all seem to ship directly from TMI.
